Stuck in a Good Book Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Stuck in a Good Book Giveaway Hop, hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and Stuck In Books!

What book have you been stuck in recently?

written in my own hearts blood by diana gabaldonEarlier this summer, I read the latest doorstop in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. (Of course there’s a review).

Like many readers, I love the series. As soon as I started the story, I was instantly swept away, and it felt like no time at all since the last book, five long years ago. (It probably helps that the action picked up just where the last one left off.)

But the Outlander saga is intense. Bad things happen to so many people that we have come to love, and it can be heart-wrenching to see the characters in pain or especially danger. This is a story that wraps around your heart.

As much as I was enthralled by every single page, I was also torn. There is so much trauma. I had to put the book aside for a day to let the events sink in before I could return and finish the story.

So I was stuck in the book in the middle, and then again at the end, not wanting to leave “my friends” behind. Book hangovers are marvelous (and frustrating)

I’m giving away a gift card to the winner’s choice of Amazon or B&N, so that the winner can help themselves to one or two more books that they can get “Stuck In”!

  1. That would have to be the whole Consequences Series by Aleatha Romig – I could not put those books down! I’ve read thousands of books in the 51 years I’ve been reading, and I’ve never read a series of books written with a plotline like that. Truly riveting!!!

  2. I am nearly to the end of listening to Outlander right now and oh lord, yes, it will stick with me. Can’t wait to read the latest book when I get to it since it sounds like the whole series is fab.

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  3. While I have read many books since, the Hunger Games trilogy really stuck in my head for ages, and I re-read immediately after. I was one of the people who came to the books after seeing the first movie, but that did not ruin the 2nd movie for me! Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. The last good book that my mind got stuck in was Don’t Blink by James Patterson. Thanks for having the giveaway.

  5. I have to go with all three of the Hunger Games books for this one. First time in a long time where I just sat around for days, reading the whole series all the way through 🙂

  6. The last book stuck in my mind was City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare and thanks for the giveaway!! 🙂

  7. Thief of Glory by Sigmund Brouwer was an intense WWII story about a Japanese-run concentration camp in the Pacific – very different from other WWII books I’ve read.

  8. Divergent trilogy I read it along side my 12 year old niece because she wanted me to and I actually enjoyed it.

  9. The last book I got stuck reading was After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Loved that book!
