New Year’s Blog Hop

This year we’re celebrating New Year’s by giving away a little bit of extra cheer. A bunch of blogs are getting together to give away books, gift cards and other prizes.

It sounds like a terrific New Year’s tradition to me. Way better than a hangover!

We’ll probably have toasted the New Year with something other than champagne at our house, too. More likely hard cider. Champagne may be the traditional beverage, but I just plain like cider better. And isn’t this supposed to be a celebration?

And, I’ll admit, we’ll probably stay home. Not just because we’re new here and don’t know people yet, but because it’s wonderful to have found the right person to share celebrations with. We’re celebrating starting a new year in a new city, and a fresh start.

How do you celebrate New Year’s Eve? Is it a time for wild partying? Or do you prefer a quieter celebration?

And speaking of celebrating…

This New Year’s Blog Hop has THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times! As for MY prize, I’m giving away a $10 Amazon Gift Card, just in case there’s anything left on your wish list. Follow the Rafflecopter to enter.

  9. We celebrated New Year quietly this year because my two kids are still too young — but we attended mass on New Year’s Day and went out to lunch together and that was a wonderful way for us to start 2013.

Thank you for the great giveaway!

I stayed home with the family and watched the ball drop on tv. Nothing exciting but was great nonetheless.

No major resolutions beyond reading a lot (let’s go 50 books!) and staying active (jog, jog!), but I hope you have a great year 🙂

    Thanks again!

  28. We are very low key around our house. We have friends over, the kids play, the adults play board games and try new drinks. Lots of food, laughter, and fun. Not to mention, the doggy gets lots of attention from everyone.

    Happy New Year.

  31. My holiday is always quiet. My mom and I traditionally have our “midnight meal” on New Year’s Eve (consisting of appetizers and snack foods) while we wait for the ball to drop. (We used to watch the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy, but since we cut cable in 2012, we didn’t this year.) We sip on sparkling pear juice instead of wine.

  34. Happy New Year! My New Years traditions are easy, I spend time with my family and friends. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year. My resolutions this year is as always to loose a few pounds and spend a little more time with my family.

    Ifightforlove36@gmail.com

  35. My tradition used to be watching monster movies, but now that I have kids the monster movies are out. For a while we watched Disney countdown, but thankfully we don’t have that channel anymore. 🙂 We don’t really have a “thing” anymore.
