The Sunday Post AKA What’s on my (Mostly Virtual) Nightstand 2-5-17

Sunday Post

This has been one of those weeks I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Galen was sick all week. There’s a bad cold, or possibly the flu, going around and it caught him. The alternate explanation is “con crud”. For those blissfully not familiar, con crud is the crap you come down with after spending a week at a conference or convention. You run around like crazy, you wear yourself down, and you spend a lot of time packed into heated rooms with LOTS of strangers. Airborne diseases are, well, airborne, and stuff happens.

Tuesday I fell. No big deal. I could tell I’d tweaked something in my left ankle, but I’ve done that before. Entirely too many times. No big deal. At least not until the bruise on my right leg swelled to epic proportions. Literally epic. It felt like someone shoved a grapefruit under my skin. It hurt so much I couldn’t walk. Scared us both half to death. After all the drama, and there was plenty of it, it turns out that my ankle really is cracked, but there’s nothing structurally wrong with my right leg. I just have a gigantic (and extremely colorful) bruise from above my knee to below my ankle.

And I caught the con crud. This week’s reading schedule may not survive contact with reality. Or with the goop in my head.

  1. I am so terrified of falling when we’re having rainy weather, as the streets and sidewalks are so slippery.

I walk slowly, like an old lady. Hey, wait, I think I am an old lady! LOL

I’ve been ogling The Wicked City. Enjoy your books, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  2. I’m sorry you’re dealing with bruises, broken bones, and crud all at the same time. Hope for a speedy recovery for the both of you.

Unfortunately, I also fall all the time. I’ve done it all my life, but I’m more afraid of it now that I’m older. (I’ve broken upwards of 20 bones so far, and I’m not hoping to add to the total.)
