There is a certain amount of trepidation at Chez Reading Reality this weekend. The bathroom remodelers are supposed to be here Monday morning to start a job that we signed up for SIX months ago. The supply chain snafu snafus everything. We are looking forward to getting the work done, because we haven’t been able to use the master bathroom shower for six months. BUT this project has been on hold for so long neither of us is going to believe it until we see them arrive.
The thing we’re not looking forward to is several mornings of “All Star Cat Wrangling”. We have a room we can keep them in all day that will have food, water, litter boxes, a big cat tree and a great window for watching the birds and the squirrels. The trick – probably at least a trick and a half – will be getting them all into it. Not that they don’t all spend plenty of time in a room we honestly refer to as “the cats’ room”. But they’re cats. If that’s where we WANT them to be it will be the last place they’ll be interesting in going!

I had to do a little wiener dog wrangling this past week when I had a new washer delivered and then had someone come out to give me an estimate on adding to the deck I have in the back yard. Nothing like with cats though I know! lol That sucks about waiting so long on the bathroom. My estimate on the deck was so high that I am thinking maybe I’ll just re-do my bathroom. But it’s at least in working order. It has to suck to not have your shower! Hope all that goes smoothly and gets done soon!

Thanks for sharing! It wasn’t too bad on the cat wrangling. They wouldn’t let US wrangle them but they did hide themselves once the noise started. Things are proceeding apace but it’s still not done. And I wouldn’t recommend starting this process if you don’t have to!

Yep, I feel ya. I started an extensive remodel in Summer 2019–whole place gutted, walls moved, everything replaced, etc. Still not completed and virtually everything I own is in storage. Due to the pandemic and unrelated medicaI issues, I haven’t been been back in over 2 years. I hope things go better for you and the kits. 😂
I feel you, too! The good thing about the company doing this job is that they don’t start until they have the stuff they need to finish. Waiting was hard, but living in a construction zone would be so much worse! I hope things get better for you soon!

Hi Marlene! We’ve just finished with our bathroom and I relaize how fortunate we are to to have a big yard and an open field for the kitties to go and wander in while the buildersn were here. The dogs and Stinkie didn’tn mind having the builders here, but Elza disappeared as soon as they clocked in and only re-surfaced when they clock out. Good Luck to you!

Our cats did the same thing. They’re all hiding under the guest room bed since our bedroom is too close to the “action”. The books is The Department of Rare Books and Special Collections by Eva Jurczyk and it does look fascinating. One of my friends does that for a living so I’m really curious about whether the fictional story is as good as some of the ones she tells!
