Dad-O-Mite Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Dad-O-Mite Giveaway Hop, hosted by Mama the Fox!

Father’s Day is this coming Sunday, June 19th, in the U.S. and a whole host of other countries. This particular bloghop celebrates dads of all kinds everywhere, whether bio-dads, adoptive dads, foster dads, dads of choice, pet dads and every kind of dad, granddad and father figure out there who is loved by their children, whether or not those children are little, or big, or have four feet or fur or feathers or scales, or any combination of the above.

We all need someone to fill that role in our lives. We’re not all lucky enough to get such a person. If you have one, and yours is still around, give them an extra hug for those who never did or no longer do.

  1. I really cant think of any funny gifts we’ve given; maybe some of our art as kids?

  2. The funniest present my dad ever received was from our family. My parents lived where there were big trees and lots of squirrels. The squirrels would eat the seed from the bird feeder. We bought my father a “squirrel feeder” that would fool the squirrels. As I remember it, you put a large ear of dried corn on part of the feeder. As the squirrel jumped to try to get the corn, the feeder just went round and round as the squirrel shifted its weight – a sort of round treadmill for the squirrel. It was entertaining to watch the squirrels try to get the corn!

  3. When he turned fifty he received Geritol and other items for “old” people and some are too raunchy to state.

  4. He always gets funny t-shirts from friends and family. We also got him one of those eyeglass holders that are mainly just a huge nose. Guests get a kick out of it too.

  5. I remember he got a funny shirt from my sister, but I don’t remember what it said on it

  6. My Dad passed away in 1989, just nine days before my son Josh was born. It has been so many years that I have to admit that I can’t recall if he’d ever received a humorous gift on any occasion

  7. My dad owned a welding shop and he liked to sit outside by the fire in the evenings and drink his bear. So one year, we got him a little red wagon filled it full of bear and ice and pulled out there to him. He got the biggest kick out of that and to us kids it was too funny!

  8. So many to choose from! But I’ll go w/ lime green high-top sneakers. (Mind you, this was probably 40+ years ago and colorful sneakers weren’t as common, especially for older guys.)

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  9. The funniest present my Dad has ever received was a sweatshirt that was five sizes too big.

  10. My dad passed away when I was 6. I don’t remember any gifts I gave him but I do remember that he loved to fish and I learned to love it too because I got to spend more time with him. Those are my best memories of him. Thank you for the giveaway.

  11. I was raised with just my momma so I have not a clue. But she received some funny stuff. I know I got her butt paper one time as a gift as I remember her saying she was low

  12. He loved to barbecue and built rotisseries, so a pal made him a very unfortunate shirt saying “King of Spit.” That missing “the” made a huge difference….

  13. One year my brother got my dad a vacuum. I found that to be an odd father’s day gift!

  14. A frozen snowball. On 4th of July. From his friend who kept it in the freezer until June. So he could win a snowball fight.

  15. Probably a clay ashtray that I made in school. Didn’t we all at some point make one?
Yeah, it wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t useful as an ashtray (though it made a great paper weight.

  16. My brother gave him some little corks in a bag with the label “fart plugs.” He thought it was hilarious!! I’ll never forget how much he laughed!

  17. I can’t think of anything funny that he has received. We usually try to get him practical things.

  18. Not my dad, but my husband was gifted Monkey Butt powder years ago. At first he was a bit confused, but it turned into a great and fun gift giving challenge every year (who could come up with something fun and outlandish)

  19. My dad was bald on the top of his head and one year his Computer Science students gave him a half circle shaped comb that had combs on both sides but it was bare in the middle where he had no hair. My dad had a great sense of humor so he probably loved that. Thanks and God Bless!

  20. I wish there was a entry form link to use. Can’t get it to load correctly on your site. It’s not your fault. See it in other places. 🤔

  21. It was an ornament hand made by my son when he was in grade school. It is a reindeer and he has the cutest expression on his face,it is also a picture holder.

  22. My dad was a very serious person when it came to his family. I don’t remember any funny gifts.

  23. I think the funniest gift time was he gave my mom an iron to make her job easier!

  24. I don’t recall us ever giving my grandfather any funny gifts- but he regularly gets funny greeting cards 🙂 .
