Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho Giveaway Hop, hosted by Review Wire Media and Chatty Patty’s Place!

I see the words “Ho Ho Ho” and in my head there’s a deep voice and a jolly old man in a Santa suit booming “Merry Christmas” even though I don’t personally celebrate the holiday.

Hanukkah begins in the evening of Sunday, December 18 this year and lasts until Boxing Day, December 26 in case you were wondering. I certainly was and I had to go look it up. We kind of celebrate “December” at Chez Reading Reality, and excuse to give each other a present – if we can think of anything either of us wants. Which means that the actual day isn’t marked as it was when I was a kid.

Back to “Ho-Ho-HO!” If you’re looking for a cute grown-up book about Santa – or at least about people dressed as Santa – take a look at A Wish for Winter by Viola Shipman.

I’m digressing again, aren’t I? But there’s something about the holiday season that makes us all a bit scatterbrained, isn’t there?

Do you feel like you’re pulled in all directions during the holidays? Can’t wait to get back to “normal”? Or are you able to just “let it go” along with “letting it snow”?

Tell us how you feel for a chance at our usual holiday prize – and all year ’round – the winner’s choice of a $10 Amazon Gift Card or $10 in books.

Happy Holidays!

  1. Over the years, I have been stressed out with work, shopping, financial issues and not being able to get everyone a gift but now that I am older and my family made a pact that we would only give gifts to the kids I am able to just go with the flow

  2. I’m pretty chill, we keep the whole festive thing pretty under control. No big parties, tons of gifts, or anything like that.

  3. They used to really bad, but we’ve decided not to participate in my husband’s family’s events and it’s been much more calm and peaceful. It will be the 3rd year of doing our own thing and it’s been great.

  4. I do stress a lot. It’s a tough time of year for me and some days it’s hard to keep my wits about me. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!

  5. I get a little stressed out by the holidays but learn to let it go as quickly as possible.

  6. I try to get things done ahead of time, so I can enjoy all of the special Christmas moments!

  7. This year I am aiming for less stress and have been busy doing shopping and mailing now. The holidays usually stress me out but with my new approach maybe I will do better this year!

  8. I no longer stress about the Christmas holiday since I quit doing anything about it. But December is always very busy for reasons unrelated to Christmas so I still manage to squeeze in some anxiety attacks. 🙂

  9. A little of both, being a teacher as well as a mom there is a ton of stuff going on. I always try to schedule on mental health day in Dec from school and start ordering presents in Nov. to help.

  10. I can just go with the flow now because used to I would get so stressed I couldn’t function on Christmas Day, so I quit letting it stress me out and I just go with the flow! Have a magical holiday season!

  11. Absolutely stresses me out. I tried to simplify and drastically cut back this year. It has helped a little.

  12. I go with the flow. Out of my family I have the least holiday obligations so it makes things easier.

  13. I try to go with the flow, but finances are stressing me out this year. Christmas will be a frugal event.

  14. This year I am stressed to the max. I have a plan for next year though, so it shouldn’t happen again.

  15. I’m pretty much stressed out all the time, but the holidays usually give me things to look forward to so that is destressing a bit. I love this time of year, even though its busy!

  16. Christmas is my favorite holiday. If you have your act together it won’t stress you out.

  17. I try to go with the flow but get stressed sometimes, especially when dealing with relatives who don’t understand that if they wait until the last minute to try to make plans my calendar is already going to be full and I’m not going to cancel plans I made months ago and already spent money on to make it to something they only started planning in December

  18. It depends on the moment, honestly. The older I get the more I am able to relax and enjoy and not stress so much about perfection.

  19. I do get a little stressed during the holidays, but I manage to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

  20. Yes I do get a bit stressed and as I worry if the person I’m buying the gift for is going to like it.

  21. I usually get totally stressed out. To the point of having mini meltdowns. I have to get the word “perfect” out of my head.

  22. Holidays make me happy as I enjoy seeing family and friends. People make an extra effort to get together even if the weather is not great. Sharing food, looking at photos,
reminiscing about old experiences and creating new ones is what the holidays mean to me.

  23. I LOVE the holiday season. As far as Christmas goes, I start thinking about gifts in July and start buying as early as August (depending on what it is). By Thanksgiving, I’m done shopping. This Christmas was definitely stress-free. Though it seems like the month of December flew by and I missed it.

  24. They definitely stress me out, a lot. Too many things to get done in too short a time.

Thanks for the giveaway 🙂 !
