Welcome Winter Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Welcome Winter Giveaway Hop, hosted by Review Wire Media and Chatty Patty’s Place!

I firmly object to the theme for this hop. I DO NOT welcome winter. At all. One of the reasons we live here is that winter is aware that it is not welcome here and doesn’t commit to much of a visit. That Arctic blast over the holidays was all the reminder I needed about why true winter just isn’t all that much fun.

At least for yours truly. Your wintry mileage may vary. So let us know in the comments whether you ‘welcome winter’ or not, for a chance at the usual Reading Reality prize, the winner’s choice of a $10 Amazon Gift Card or $10 in books.

    1. I’m in the middle, I live in Nebraska so expect winter and snow, but hate the occasional icy streets that come with it.

  1. It’s usually mild here and I really like the Spring and the Fall so I guess I’m somewhere in the middle. Thanks!

  2. Normally in Northern California I don’t notice winter, but if it’s always going to be as stormy as this one, I’ll dread it in the future…

  3. I love winter while I do not always enjoy the cold I do enjoy the changing of trees and how magical it all is.

  4. I am in the middle. I love it and I don’t mind for it. I enjoy when it snows, but not where it leads to power outages and being trapped in my house. However, if it snows and vanishes the same day, I’m ok with it. Plus if it means staying indoors, under the covers, all cozy and warm. Well I like that part too!

  5. I dread the long winter nights but I love the rain and light snow as we so need it in our area.

  6. I don’t like the frigid cold or driving in the winter but I do enjoy cross country skiing!

  7. I love winter but I really wish that we would get more snow here, I am thinking of moving to another town or state where they get a lot of snow each winter.

  8. I actually like winter know. 100% humidity in the winter is a Lot different than 100% humidity when it’s really warm outside. I’m in way less pain in the winter.

  9. California has been in a drought for a long time so I am appreciating all this rain we are getting. However, some areas are getting very flooded.

  10. I am in the middle. It is a part of life. I get ready for it and deal the best I can.

  11. I love Winter because that means I will be nice and cool for awhile from my hot flashes from menopause.

  12. I’m somewhere in the middle…which is why we now live in MD! It gets colder, but usually not too too cold. Every once in a while it snows, and it’s pretty…but since I don’t like to drive in it, it’s good that it melts pretty quickly. I’d be happy if it would just be 72 & sunny all year round!

  13. Im sort of in the middle. I love the snow but hate the cold and the snow and ice in my steep driveway.

  14. I’m in the middle. I love Christmas time and Valentine’s, but I don’t like the colder weather!

  15. I’m not a fan of winter. I don’t like driving on the slick streets, our utility bills skyrocket and my arthritis always is worse in the cold wearher.

  16. Not a big fan of winter but if I don’t have to get outside, I love looking at the pretty snow, cloudy days and hunkering down to read my book! Thank you!

  17. I don’t mind winter. I like playing in the snow with the kids. I’m always excited when spring arrives though!

  18. I love winter because it’s so quiet outside. The best thing about winter is that spring is next!

  19. I live in the south where it doesn’t get too cold so it doesn’t really matter to me either way. I think I would like to see snow, but from what I could tell during our last super Texas freeze, it’s not as fun as they make it seem to be in Hallmark movies.

  20. I dread it! It basically starts in October here and isn’t done until April, sometimes May!

  21. After my husband was posted in the tropics for a few years, I am SO grateful for seasons in general! The tropics was great, but it’s like groundhog day, every day is exactly the same. I LOVE winter!!!

  22. I’m in Michigan, metro Detroit, and we had snow right before Christmas and that’s It. I’m still totally done with cold/snow. lol. Where is spring/summer? I’m ready!

  23. I don’t “dread” it, but I don’t “welcome” it either. I am SO over snow this year as here in the town I live in in WNY we had 10 FEET of snow in a 30 day period….including in a Blizzard. Bring on SPRING!

  24. I love winter in Arizona. We have cooler weather and some rainy days. It’s a nice change.

  25. I welcome it! It gets hot here in Florida, plus my AC isn’t working. So yay for cool weather!

Thanks for the giveaway 🙂 !

  26. I’m in between. I love the holiday beverages, sweets, and movies. I like giving and getting Christmas gifts. I enjoy having fewer hot days.

But I am not made for freezing temperatures! Plus, when the tv shows I like go to break so holiday stuff can be played, at least one of them usually cliffhangers me. I’m looking at you, Equalizer, La Brea, and Quantum Leap 😉 .

Hope you have a safe and happy winter 🙂 !

  27. When I lived in NY I dreaded it because it meant the threat of snow, frozen pipes and the high cost of heating oil. But now that I live in NC it’s not bad since there are very few very cold days, only a slight chance of snow and a good number of days are more like spring then winter.

  28. I live in Texas so I like winter in Texas. I have been in New York City during the winter and that was too cold for me!
