While spring may not have officially sprung where you are, it certainly has around here. At least this week. Next week could be wintry again. As a great writer once said, “Climate is what you expect. Weather is what you GET.” Truer words…
In this week’s stack, I clearly have more than a few gems – even if they don’t turn out to be the ones that I think will be going in.
The prettiest covers here, IMHO, are When the Tides Held the Moon, The Gods Time Forgot, and A Dagger of Lightning. Have I ever mentioned that blue is my favorite color? You might have guessed.
Down in the Sea of Angels is doubly highlighted this week, as it also belongs on that ‘pretty cover’ list AND is the book I’m most looking forward to. I adored the author’s The Circus Infinite a few years back so I have really high hopes for this one!
And then there’s the one I picked up purely for the title. If you can’t guess, it’s I See You’ve Called in Dead because damn I’ve been tempted a time or two myself, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn that every person who has EVER had a day job of any kind has also felt that temptation a few (dozen or hundred) times over the course of any number of jobs. What about you?

The Raven Scholar is on my TBR as well. There quite a few books here that I would love to read ah my poor TBR! haha
I like the look of that one as well. Something about it calls to me, and it’s not saying “Nevermore”. My poor TBR rolled over, died, and spilled itself all over several floors. I’m so glad it’s pretty much all virtual at this point because otherwise my house would fall in!

The weather here is crazy, foggy and cold in the morning, warm and bright sunshine in the evening. I just don’t know what to wear!
They look good. I have The Maid’s Secret on my TBR!
Have a great weekend!
I didn’t read The Maid series when it first started, but now it’s time to get caught up! Today’s weather here is glorious, but tomorrow is threatening to be CRAPTASTIC. C’est la vie. I hope it gets better where you are soon.

Oh I loved The Circus Infinite and am so glad that the author has another book out. I thought that The Raven Scholar was excellent so I hope that you enjoy that one too.
I met the author in person at Worldcon last year, told him that I was so happy to see his next book coming because of Circus Infinite being so good and he warned me it wasn’t the same world and I told him I didn’t care because I loved that book so hard. I can’t wait to get into it.

For some reason The Imagined Life jumps out at me. I think I am adding this to my shelf too. You have a lot of awesome books here today, Marlene.
The Imagined Life cover jumps at me too. It looks like gorgeous mid-century modern setting. We’ll see if it’s as good as its cover, won’t we?

I loved Some Like it Scot by Pepper Basham. I am currently reading If All Else Sails by Emma St. Clair, and the cover of Swept Away brought it to mind. Have a great weekend!
That’s great to know. I got it and then started wondering about it a bit. Thanks for the recommendation!

The weather is unpredictable here, which means tornados. Friday night, our area was hit. I haven’t heard about any deaths in my area, but we had people without power for almost 24 hours, some people did lose their homes, and some businesses got hit pretty hard.
I also got Some Like It Scot this week!
We had tornado warnings last night, and one hell of a storm, but now all is calm and bright, if a bit windblown. Have a good week!
