Moms Rock Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Moms Rock Giveaway Hop, hosted by Mama the Fox and Mom Does Reviews!

The name of this hop, and the graphic to go with it, make me laugh every year. While my mom certainly did rock in her own way, it absolutely wasn’t THAT way.

Although a lot of my friends are moms, and I could certainly see a few of them with that axe. And they all really are great at rocking the whole ‘mom thing’.

Whether our moms are still with us or not, or whether the people who occupy that place in our lives are our moms by birth or adoption or by love alone, they still have mom things that they do that no one else does ‘right’. I still miss my mom’s vegetable beef barley soup, and my grandmother’s chocolate chip cookies. I have the recipes for both, and I’ve even made them a time or two. IT’S JUST NOT THE SAME!

What about you? If you’re a mom, what’s your best ‘mom thing’? Or if you didn’t go that route or haven’t yet, what’s the thing you remember that your mom just did THE best?

  1. I’m not sure if any of us had a “mom thing” or what a “mom thing” would be. I’m a mom of 5 and each child is totally different, so we wing it.

  2. I don’t have children, but my mother used to say learn as much as you can because that cannot be taken away from you.

  3. Whenever my children and grandchildren visit me as we live near each other I always have their favorite snacks and feed them well.

  4. My mom does not really have a thing. She calls once or twice a year. My grandma’s thing was making stuff with her raspberries.

  5. my best mom thing is doing laundry, I cannot leave the basket full and I have to fold it as soon as the dryer shuts off

  6. My mom’s best thing was organization. I can never hope to achieve that level of organization!

  7. My Moms Thing was going to thrift shops and me tagging along. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  8. My Grandma’s thing was every thing had a day. As in wash clothes on Monday and iron Tuesday. Do the floors on Friday. Bake on Wednesday and Saturday. You get the picture. I do it to, but to a lesser extent.

  9. My mom’s “mom thing” is baking and making meals for all of us when we go to visit them.
