I don’t know about you, but that face on the cover of The Halls of the Dead creeps me right the hell out. It makes the cover of Sarafina seem normal in comparison, but if you look at that one closely, it’s kind of creepy too. Just not nearly AS creepy.
This isn’t really a pretty bunch of covers at all. Pretty arresting in a few cases – see above – but not pretty. Several are boring or almost boring. (I’m looking forward to reading Dive Bar at the End of the Road but the cover is kind of ‘meh’). The closest to pretty are The Forgotten Midwife and The Hope Keeper. I’ve been enjoying the new editions of Anna Hackett’s Phoenix Adventures series, howsomever, I haven’t liked the new covers, like the cover of Beyond Galaxy’s Edge, as much as I did the originals. But the books have been excellent and that IS what we’re here for!

Great choices! My eye was drawn to quite a few of them – The Last Letters of Sally and Walter has tear jerker written all over it 🙂 Dive Bar at the End of the Road also caught my eye – this sounds like a great page turner!
