There’s not a lot of outright pretty in this stack, but there’s certainly a lot of pretty darn cute!
Fishbone Cinderella sweeps back and forth over the border between merely cute and downright pretty, while the cutest of the cute, IMHO are A Game of Cat and Killer, Meet Cute Magic, Mr. Mendlebee’s Pandimensional Literary Repository (and Yarn) and The Reimagining of Thornwood House.
Fishbone Cinderella is one of the books I’m most curious about – because I’m really curious about how that title works itself out. Speaking of titles, The Divine Gardener’s Handbook is the one I absolutely picked for, not so much the title, as that subtitle. Because inquiring minds really want to figure that one out! (Mr. Mendlebee’s Pandimensional Literary Repository (and Yarn) would have been on this list – for the yarn – but I couldn’t wait so I’ve already read that one. And will be recommending it in a review closer to the publication date.)
The books I’m most looking forward to reading are The Girl in the Lake and The Vanished Sister. I’ve tried a couple of James Patterson’s series, if only to see what the fuss is all about, but this is the only one that’s ever grabbed me and that’s probably due to its take on those iconic detectives. Lady Sherlock, on the other hand, often drives me bananas but I still can’t resist finding out what she’s up to next!

Meet Cute Magic sounds fun! I’ve been meaning to pick up The Reimagining of Thornwood House, though I’m not sure if I like the UK cover — it’s very similar but weirdly darker?

Agreed! The US cover makes it look like a cozy, but the UK cover looks like a gothic! The cover thing is so weird in general, isn’t it? Sometimes the UK cover is so terrific I wonder what they thought they were doing and sometimes it’s the other way around. Have a great week yourself!
