Fall hasn’t quite fallen here in the ATL, at least not yet. The high temperatures the rest of this week and through the weekend are predicted to be in the high 80s and low-mid 90s. That’s NOT fall weather. It’s just not. It’s not yet cold enough to get the leaves to start turning, either. Eventually.
I don’t miss Chicago winters – AT ALL – but I do miss their fall. Fall does tend to be a pretty season in the Midwest. Living here, I’m always a bit surprised when the holiday season starts, because it feels too soon because it hasn’t gotten chilly here yet.
One of the things I do enjoy about fall, even here, is the inevitable change to flannel sheets, because my feet are always cold. OTOH, I could definitely do without the switch from Daylight Saving Time (which doesn’t save anything) back to Standard Time. That extra hour of sleep in the fall is not worth the disruption.
