The Sunday Post AKA What’s On My (Mostly Virtual) Nightstand 2-9-14

Sunday Post

It’s warmed up a bit in Seattle, but on Wednesday no one cared about the temperature. 700,000 people lined the streets downtown for the Seahawks’ welcome home parade. The library faces the parade route, so we had a marvelous (and warm) view of the whole thing. What a blast!

Between the Share the Love Giveaway Hop and the Fire and Ice Blog Hop there are two chances to win a $10 Amazon or B&N gift card. Both hops are open until February 15.

Fire and Ice Blog Hop : Hot Reads for Cold Nights

Welcome to the Fire & Ice Blog Hop!

This hop is hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings, My Guilty Obsession, Candace’s Book Blog and The Nocturnal Library. Not only are there four wonderful hosts, but there were several marvelous variations for the hop button. The adorable little snow guy just happens to be my favorite, but check out the others at the host sites, or at all of the participants listed below.

The theme is hot books for cold nights. I don’t know about where you are, but even Seattle has been unseasonably (unreasonably) cold this winter. Curling up on the couch with a hot book (and maybe some hot chocolate) has been a pretty fantastic idea this winter.

Even the blog at my place of work got into the act; the Romantic Wednesdays column on January 29 was “Hot Reads for Cold Nights“, and we picked some books guaranteed to warm you up.

I’ve read some pretty hot books this winter too! If you’re looking for something to warm you up, and you love historical romance, you can’t go wrong with Victoria Vane’s Devil DeVere or for history with a paranormal twist, Jane Kindred’s House of Arkhangel’sk and Demons of Elysium.

I’m sure you all have your own recommendations for hot reads on cold nights! Fill out the rafflecopter to suggest a few, and maybe you’ll win that gift card. So you can buy more hot books!
