Rain Rain Go Away Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the 4th Annual Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Hop, hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island

It’s not supposed to rain today in Atlanta. But “climate is what you expect, weather is what you get” so who knows? It is supposed to rain over the weekend. Of course it is!

“Rain Rain Go Away! Come back another day!” Preferably a day when we all have to be indoors working anyway. Oh well, it could be worse. Depending on where you live, it could still be snow!

As part of the Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Hop, as well as part of my eighth annual Blogo-Birthday Giveaway Celebration, I’m giving away the winner’s choice of a $10 Amazon Gift Card or a $10 Book from the Book Depository. Yes, I gave the same thing away yesterday, but this is a completely separate giveaway. As will be Wednesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s giveaways. Plenty of chances to share my celebration and WIN!

Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Rain Rain Go Away! Giveaway Hop, hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island

When I was a little girl, my grandmother taught me the rhyme, “Rain, rain go away! Come back another day.” I’m still kind of expecting the rain to answer back, “But I did. I did!” I’ve often looked for a cartoon that did this, but I haven’t found one. At least not yet.

There’s also a riddle about rain that I’m a little bit too fond of.

“If April Showers bring May Flowers, then what do May Flowers bring?”

The answer, of course, is pilgrims. I can’t believe I actually managed to catch someone with this the other day. Everything old is new again. Except the rain. Even when we need it, days and days of rain just plain get old.

What never gets old is the opportunity to win your choice of a $10 Amazon Gift Card or a $10 Book from the Book Depository, just by entering the rafflecopter below.

Rain Rain Go Away Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Second Annual Rain Rain Go Away Giveaway Hop, hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island.

Today is my birthday. I am participating in this hop as part of my annual Blogo-Birthday celebration. Yesterday was the sixth anniversary of the founding of Reading Reality and today is my birthday, so, “blogo-birthday”!

You might also call this a hobbit birthday. It’s my birthday and instead of (or in addition to) receiving presents I am also giving presents all week long. Including today.

It’s April, and as I write this, it is raining cats and dogs here in Atlanta, although so far I haven’t seen any poodles in the road. Maybe later.

But that makes this an excellent day to curl up with a cup of tea, a purring cat, and a good book. Let me know how you like to spend your rainy days for a chance at your choice of a $10 Amazon Gift Card or a $10 book from the Book Depository.

Welcome to the Rain Rain Go Away Giveaway Hop, hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island.

When I was a little girl, my grandmother taught me the rhyme:

Rain, rain go away
Come back another day!

I’ve always wondered if the rain ever shouted back: “I DID!”

My grandmother has been gone a long time now, but I still remember those childhood Saturdays with her. She always made me chicken soup, and I loved the “drowned chicken” from the soup pot. To this day, I still love chicken drumsticks because of those Saturdays.

There’s also a more recent April showers rhyme. In school, they used to tell us that “April showers bring May flowers.”

But the version I remember is: “If April showers bring May flowers, then what do May flowers bring?”

The answer, of course, is “Pilgrims”.

And if you are searching for something to do while those April showers are raining down, fill in the rafflecopter for your choice of a $10 Gift Card from Amazon or B&N, or a $10 Book from The Book Depository.
