The names of a lot of giveaway hops are pretty cute, but this one is an especially important pun on no matter how you flavor it!

There’s the easy and obvious first interpretation – without which a lot of us, including moi, don’t have enough spoons to figure out the second meaning. That would be the thanks for the latte, or any form of caffeine that gets us through the day. My personal latte of choice is Chai Latte, yours may be something more coffee flavored.

But the more important message of this hop is that it provides an opportunity for me to thank you, my readers, not just a latte but absolutely a whole LOT for visiting Reading Reality and following along on my reading journey.

Thank you so very much for being here, reading my reviews, commenting when the mood strikes you, and for loving the Sunday cat pictures.

The title of this hop is a bit of a pun, isn’t it?

That graphic of a cup of something most likely hot from one’s favorite purveyor of generally caffeinated beverages leads one to think the hop may be related to thanking whichever deity or whatever being is responsible for the existence of caffeine. Most of us need some to get started in the morning.

Personally I prefer tea or chai latte. But something to wake me up is absolutely required.

Very much on my other hand, it could, or does in this case, give me the opportunity to say “THANKS A LOT” to each and every person who drops by this blog to read reviews, check out the weekly cat picture (George was adorable in Sunday’s picture) or to participate in a hop like this one. (There will be plenty more in the weeks ahead as we wend our way towards the holidays.

So again I say, Thank you SO MUCH for being a part of my reading journey!

There are multiple ways to interpret the theme of this hop. The picture of the caffeine emporium cup in the image is a dead giveaway for one of those ways. Also come to think of it, yet another pun, as I don’t know about you, but I’m at least brain dead in the morning until I get my first dose of caffeine. In other words…

“Uisce beatha”, which translates from the Gaelic as “water of life” may be whisky in a lot of places, but in this household it’s tea, at least for me. Galen is a heathen and drinks coffee, but I’m not truly alive until I get at least one mug of tea inside me.

There’s a second meaning for this hop’s name. And that’s to say “Thanks a LOT” to every single person who drops by Reading Reality to read my reviews, check out the weekly cat pictures (I have an especially cute one for next Sunday, BTW) or even just to participate in a hop like this one. Thank you SO MUCH for being a part of my reading journey!
