Dad-o-mite Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Dad-O-Mite Giveaway Hop, hosted by Mama the Fox!

Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June, not just in the U.S. but in plenty of other countries around the world. It looks like most if not all of the countries in the world have a celebration dedicated to fathers at some point in the year – just not necessarily the SAME point in the year. It’s not JUST a Hallmark holiday, although it must help the greeting card company’s bottom line even today.

And I’m reminded that once upon a time, my own father was in the greeting card business, as the accountant for a small company based in Cincinnati that eventually got swallowed by Hallmark’s rival American Greetings a long time ago. Time flies.

This year’s Father’s Day (this very Sunday!) is going to be special for lots of folks. While our fur-children have been with us every day, there are a lot of families for whom this will be the first time it will be safe enough to travel and to gather in large groups and share those backyard barbecues with friends and loved ones in person to celebrate the day and the dads.

  1. A homecooked authentic meal, a new life and a real in depth time spent together discussing family and ancestors.

  2. My father liked the homemade gifts the best. Be they food items–I used to make him fudge and other baked goods and knit a scarf or a hat that he could use when it got to be colder months.

  3. My dad passed on, but my hubby wanted a 1000 piece puzzle and I added a $50 Playstation GC to his card too. 🙂

  4. If my father was still with us, I would gift him with a portrait of his children and grandchildren, he loved us very much and I’m sure that he is smiling down from Heaven at us now

  5. My late dad was notoriously hard to shop for, but he loved opera so I probably would have gotten him some CDs (this was pre-digital days).

Happy Father’s Day to everyone celebrating!

  6. My dad is a guy who has everything and wants nothing except the gift of family time for Fathers day!

  7. It’s very hard to get my Dad anything, he hates getting gifts! He would rather us spend our money on ourselves. I would absolutely love to get my husband a new grill though.

  8. If my dad was still alive, I’d buy him anything he wanted & I’d go spend the day with him! I miss him so much!!

  15. My dad passed away 17 years ago, I believe he is happy and finally pain free in Heaven with our Lord and Lady and my momma….he has everything he needs….but I would love to give him more hugs (more for me, then actually for him, as he is okay now). Thanks and God bless!
