Jeepers! It’s January Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Jeepers! It’s January Giveaway Hop, hosted by The Mommy Island and The Kids Did It.

Why? Because jeepers, it is January. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be writing 2015 instead of 2016 for at least a month.

It’s also a great time for this book blog to give away some bookish prizes. Long winter nights are a great time to curl up with a good book!

So, I’ll be giving away the winner’s choice of either a $10 Amazon Gift Card or a $10 Book from the Book Depository. For those who either want a book or are international visitors who don’t have a good way of using an Amazon Gift Card, the requirement is that you need an address where Book Depository ships.

  10. Gosh, I don’t have just one. I like mysteries/crime books a lot. So I guess something within that category would make me smile on a cozy night in front of the fire.

  11. My favorite comfort read has to be The Stand by Stephen King because it is a classic fight between good and evil.I love it and read it at least once a year

  14. I have no specific title or even author in mind, but if I were to seek some comfort right now, it’d be something by Sarah Mayberry.

  16. my favourite comfort read is anything by nicholas sparks (except his newest book See Me – I didn’t enjoy that one)

  18. Jeez, it’s hard to choose a favorite book! It’s like choosing your favorite child! I mostly like Paranormal Romance though! πŸ™‚

  19. This may be strange, but my comfort reads are Stephen King novels. I grew up reading them (my father was a big King fan) and when I read them now it takes me back to those days. Reading them makes me feel closer to my dad and closer to where I came from. I love horror/thriller novels now!

  20. I like mysteries but I like them without all of the blood and gory details. I tend to just skim past those details.

  21. Most of what I read makes me cry, I don’t know if much of what I read is comforting. I guess when that’s the angle I go it would be a cozy mystery.

  22. I great comfort read for me is just a huge book or series, something fantasy or sci fi – even stephen king is comforting, lol.

  23. Flowers in the Attic is a comforting book to me….it’s something I’ve read a few times over and I find relaxing to read.

  24. Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson Series I’ve read it a few times now and I always find it relaxing and exciting at the same time.

  25. Collections of short stories, especially when they are sort of strange, but still realistic, like those by Shirley Jackson.

  26. Any of the Harry Potter books take me to a whole different world, they’re my escape!

  27. My favorite comfort read genre is the supernatural “mystery” type (not sure how else to describe) like Jim Butcher with great story, good amount of action and wonderful one-liners that make me laugh out loud.

  28. Hmmm….I will go with anything inspirational by Louise Hay or Wayne Dyer as my fave inspirational reads.
