Black Friday Book Bonanza

black friday book bonanza 2015

Welcome to the Black Friday Book Bonanza, hosted by BookShelfery and the Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

I don’t know about you, but I would much rather let my fingers do the walking through the internet instead of waiting in those body-crushing crowds for Black Friday specials. I like my toesies firmly attached (all the better for the cats to nibble on them!) and there is much more available online than in any mall. I try to avoid the malls until after the holiday. I do occasionally like to shop, but I don’t like following people in parking lots like a vulture, hoping against hope that they are heading for a car and ready to leave the mall. Also hoping I can beat whatever fellow parking space searching is zooming in from the other direction.

My personal theory is that all shopping mall parking lots are designed on the Hotel California principle. “You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!”

I still want a car like George Jetson‘s, that compresses into a briefcase at the push of a button!

But until that day comes, there’s always internet shopping. No lines, no parking insanity, and you can shop in your jammies. And speaking of shopping in your jammies, I’m giving away a $10 Gift Card or a $10 book to the winner of this Rafflecopter:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

And for more great prizes, for yourself or to give as presents, be sure to take a look at the other stops on the hop!

  1. I’m starting to get into Gift Cards. They used to be a pain when they had expiry dates, but now that I have all the time I need, I love being able to make the decision of what to get with it.

  2. I love giving homemade gifts in a jar, usually cookie mixes or bread mixes. I try to make enough for everyone at our church every year.

  3. I love giving (and getting) gift cards to shops. It’s difficult to buy the exact items the others want so I give the money so they can choose themselves what they want to buy.

  4. My favorite thing to get is books and clothes. My favorite thing to give is something someone really wants but would never get for themselves.

  5. I peronally lov gettingbooks, Gift Cards an Scented Canles. Love giving GC’s asks if reasonablee wwhatver is on someones wish list.
    Thanks for the giveawway chance.

  6. I like buying my kids who are teenagers silly gifts . Last year I got my 15 year old some playdough and she loved it. I like that they never know what to expect.

  7. My favorite gift is the one I give my brother. He is the only one in my family that reads like I do (voraciously and over several genres) and he’s terrible at finding new authors or books to read so every year I create a list of books he might like and put it into his stocking. He loves it and it is fun to do.

  8. I always give gift cards now. I find my family and friends enjoy buying the things they want.
    Happy Holidays!

  9. I give and ask for gift cards. It’s so much easier and that way everyone gets what they want! Thanks for sharing!

  10. I like to give and receive “scents” i.e. Bath and Body products, body oils, perfume, bath salts, candles … — anything scented.

  11. My favourite thing to give people is books! As a book reviewer and a library assistant, I love to find books for people that I think they will love πŸ™‚ This is pretty difficult for me because none of the people in my life really are big readers πŸ˜› But really I just like giving people gifts. I love choosing things I think will bring them joy!

  12. My favorite thing to get is gift cards simply because I can use them for e-books and music, which I tend to spend the most money on. πŸ™‚

  13. My favorite thing to give or get would be something I or they wouldn’t buy themselves. We usually buy things we need, not what we want, so it’s nice to get something you really want.

  14. I love giving books, and other bookish things. It is a passion for me, and I love being able to give these things to my friends who have the same passion. Other than bookish people, I love giving furniture that I have refurbed, and made new and awesome! Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. Thank you πŸ™‚ There isn’t a specific item that I like to give away. I just want to make sure I give someone a present that they want and like. My favorite thing to get is gift cards

  16. I love receiving books as but I love giving all sorts of gifts like gift cards, homemade cookies or books! Thanks for the chance to win your awesome giveaway!

  17. Desserts. Example: I love giving Xmas cookies and receiving a Xmas fruit cake or giving chocolate and receiving candy. Yummy πŸ˜›

  18. I love getting books or book related things and I love giving homemade items (wine, soap, etc…)

  19. I never get what I’d really like:) And I love giving away something what noone expects. This year it will be chocolate coins for everyone:) As in a ‘pirate treasure’ jewelry box, a money box filled with gold etc πŸ˜€

  20. I love homemade goodies – cookies, tamales, breads, fudge, etc. I love to give them away and to receive. It’s awesome to see what others make, and to enjoy them as well.

  21. I love to receive funky socks and books, and anything my daughters make me. I love to give underwear to my family members and take a pic of them holding them up!!

  22. I really enjoy getting gifts from one of my aunts. She always finds these random Wizard of Oz themed presents. For example, one year I got Glinda’s and the Wicked Witch’s hats which were a salt and pepper shaker set. It’s cheesy, but it’s nice to know she tries to look for something for me.

  23. I prefer to get gift cards. People tend to have a hard time shopping for me, so it seems to work best that way. Bubble bath is a good gift too.

  24. I mostly give gift cards to my family members so they can choose what they want/need. If they’re strapped for cash, they can use the cards to help with their own gift-giving (which is why I try to give them a bit early). I tend to give more personalized gifts to family and coworkers, but I try not to give things just for the sake of giving something. Let’s face it, most people don’t want or need more “stuff”; there are only so many Santa candy dishes you can use in a lifetime. πŸ™‚

  25. I love getting books and Amazon gift cards. I love to give books when I can. Otherwise, I do the best to figure out what a person might like or give them a gift card.

  26. My favourite thing to give away would be something the receiver loves or likes. I handpick presents with people in mind. If a general giveaway, I like the freedom gift cards afford entrants.

I love getting money, definitely. Even though I’m entirely too old to want to get it from people other than my employer… :))

  27. I like to give/receive experiences (spa day, dinner gift certificate, event tix) or consummables (wine, candy, soap, candle). Happy Holidays and thanks for the giveaway!

  28. I love buying for my nephews because they are so easy to please! My very favorite thing to give them is books (I’m a librarian, so I suppose it is to be expected!)

  29. I love getting the unexpected like a cool pair of ear rings or fun socks or a good book. Gift cards are nice but many times I end up using them on boring things like groceries or cat supplies.

  30. I try to get something that perfectly “fits” the person I’m buying the gift for. I tend to get a lot of Amazon Gift Cards, because I buy a LOT if books, and everyone has a hard time keeping up with by TBR of the moment.

  31. I love giving and receiving gift cards for the holiday. Everyone on my gift list enjoys them and I don’t have to worry about returns.

  32. I love giving away any present that I know will make the receiver happy! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!

  33. I like to pick books that I think people will enjoy. My mom usually ends up returning her Christmas presents, but she always keeps her book.

  34. My favorite thing to give is Christmas cookies. I enjoy surprising friends and others with a plate of home-made cookies.

  35. I like to give gift cards because most of my family is in a different country. I like to receive gift cards and ornaments.
