Midwinter’s Eve Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the 2018 Midwinter’s Eve Giveaway Hop, hosted by Bookhounds!

It’s beginning to look a lot like the holiday season – whichever holiday you happen to celebrate around the winter solstice. We kind of celebrate “December” as an excuse to give each other presents!

As the year winds its way down, the weather also takes a turn for the cold and damp. Just how cold and damp, and exactly what form that “damp” takes, varies a lot depending on where you are. In Atlanta we’ve got cold rain, at least at the moment. Which makes winter the perfect time to curl up with some hot tea or cocoa, warm blanket, a cuddly cat – or two or three! – and a good book.

To help you in your quest for that cozy scene, I’m giving away the winner’s choice of a $10 Amazon Gift Card or a $10 Book from the Book Depository.

  1. “What’s your favorite way to keep warm during the cold winter?” I sit in the inglenook drinking hot cocoa and contemplating the fire and the ineffable.

  2. I love sitting on my back patio with a good book and my warmest blanket with a great cup of hot chocolate or coffee!!!

  3. I warm up on a cold winter day by putting on a heavy sweatshirt, curling up on the couch with a fleece blanket and drink a hot chocolate or tea.

  4. Well, winter hasn’t officially started yet, so we’ve still got months to go with the bad weather. I try to stay warm by wearing sweaters and warm clothing. My heat isn’t that great so it’s hard to stay wam even inside these days, lol

  5. In cold weather, I like to stay warm by snuggling up under a cozy blanket with some yummy tea. Sometimes I even use my heating pad for some extra warmth and comfort!

  6. I like drinking cappuccinos and staying under my blankets while I watch TV/shows/movies or read :):) thank you so much for this opportunity

  7. I stay inside for starters! I like to wear warm leggings, a warm chunky sweater, and tall socks that go over my leggings to keep the chill out. I snuggle up with a blanket and some pillows. Then I either devour a good book, or find a favorite movie to watch.

  8. My favorite way to keep warm during the cold winter is drinking hot chocolate under a blanket on the sofa.

  9. When I had a fireplace it would be by it but I don’t anymore so electric throw it is. I do light up a fireplace scented candle.

  10. It may not be effective, but it is how I keep warm: a shirt, sweatshirt, two pairs of sweatpants, and two pairs of socks. It doesn’t hurt to have a warm cup of an eggnog latte 🙂

  11. I will use my sweater then grab my blanket and having my mug that is filled with hot choco

  12. Agreed: “Which makes winter the perfect time to curl up with some hot tea or cocoa, warm blanket, a cuddly cat – or two or three! – and a good book.” 🐈📚🤩

  13. I light up the fireplace and have a hot drink. 100% Awesome, especially with a book in hand.

  14. I cuddle on the couch (or in bed) with my three rescue dogs (I also have two rescued cats but they aren’t as much into cuddling). In fact, with three dogs curled up around me in bed, only in the coldest nights do I need a blanket. Many nights I just use a sheet.

  15. My favorite way is to make some hot chocolate and cuddle up with a good book in a nice warm fuzzy blanket!

  16. Snuggled under a warm blanket in front of the fireplace with a good book and the cat warming my feet.

  17. I wear layers! Lots of layers!!! I have onesies. I have a comfy. I have sweatshirts and hoodies. I also wear multiple pairs of socks.

  18. I usually drink hot chocolate and lay on my heated blanket.
    Thanks for the chance

  19. One of my favorite ways to keep warm and cozy during the winter is sipping on a piping hot mug of tea, especially Earl Grey or sage tea.

  20. I like the winter for reading especially after the holidays because there is so much darkness, I need to consume my mind with some inspiration.
